All of Michigan voted in good faith. If some removed their name from the ballot that is their doing not Michigans. Let the cry babies reap what they sow.

yea but the DNC set the rules before the primaries and the canidates knew that going in. therefore they should not count if hillary would have lost then she would be throwing a fit if they were thinking about counting them. obama followed the rules and didnt campaign their his name was not even on the ballot in michigan so how can that count. clinton supporters dont want to do it again because they know that obama will win their if he campaigns in those states.

To seat the delegates as they currently stand will send a message to any state wishing to move up their primary date to just do it. If we are to be a party it is important to honor and abide by party rules, particularly ones where everyone agreed. Because no one campaigned in Florida and the primary was held early in the process, the results can only be said to reflect name recognition. What about seating the Florida delegates as they stand if, and only if, Florida agrees to move their primary date back in future elections. Then hold a caucus in Michigan with the same condition of moving their date back. I am from Indiana and what is to stop Indiana from strong arming the DNC in 2012? How can we stand for our rules and laws if we reward those who break them? What does it say about Party loyalty when a candidate ignores their own Party's rules? Everyone is watching, including the world. Are we going to stand in integrity or once again reward those who fight harder and dirtier?

I live in FL & did not vote due to declaration that vote would not count…I hope this will help put this issue behind us.

Paraphrasing from Beth Reinhard in MIAMI HERALD 8 March 2008-

“The legislation that moved up FL’s presidential primary from 2nd Tues in March to last Tues in Jan was sponsored by a DEMOCRAT, Jeremy Ring, in the Senate, & a Republican, David Rivera in the House…

…. Democratic Party wanted to boost FL’s clout in the presidential primaries as much as the GOP did….

The RNC took away ½ of the state’s delegates. The candidates shrugged & proceeded to barnstorm the state…

In contrast the DNC went nuclear, taking away all of FL delegates. Since primary was now worthless, the candidates readily caved to boycott the state.

Here’s the funny thing: Even if the states hold new contests, the resulting delegates are unlikely to break open the race. That’s because if both states’ delegates are counted, the total needed to secure the nomination also increases.”

This addresses a question I have regarding exactly how 2025 level of delegates needed to secure nomination was derived. Does the 2025 level assume the 366 from MI & FL do not count? If no then the new level should be 1659 (2025-366=1659). If yes then Beth Reinhard’s point is correct….”Here’s the funny thing…” I just read that if FL & MI delegates count then new magic # is 2,209 delegates needed to secure nomination.

Fact is rules are rules & too late in game to change…Time to challenge long past…you made your bed now…. We need to put this behind us & simply admit these delegates will not count. Anything else is a travesty.

Given the primary structure the pure way to determine the winner is to look at total elected delegates.
