I got my license the day I turned 16. I made a few mistakes when I first started driving. That is okay. First, it is a lot better to make mistakes when you are younger and not an adult. Second, I am a better driver for it. Your parents can give you a guilt trip that can last for years. Also, money is so much more precious to you when you are a teen working minimum wage. If you get a parking ticket or fine, you feel the pain. Third, I loved how adult driving made me feel. Too many kids are babied nowadays by these helicopter parents. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the late drivers' parents still want to ride in the backseat when their "child" takes the test at 21.
