If the A's make the playoffs this year...
  • We will know that all this time, Billy Beane has been using the One Ring to make these deals.
  • Bud Selig will force Beane into retirement to "level the playing field" for the other GMs.
  • It will cause a massive fissure in the San Andreas Fault that severs California from the mainland.
  • Hank Steinbrenner will make Beane an offer he cannot refuse and, when he refuses, kill him.
  • Nothing. The A's cannot possibly beat out the Angels and the Mariners this year, computers or no.
  • It doesn't matter. After all, Beane's shit doesn't work in the playoffs.
